Skylark ("Hibari" in Japanese) is a bird that flies high in the air, toward the clear blue sky.
In 1962, Kotobuki Foods Ltd., the predecessor of Skylark opened a small dried foods store on a corner of the Hibarigaoka housing development in Hoya City (now Nishi-Tokyo City).
Later, in 1970, the very first "Skylark" family restaurant was opened at Kunitachi in Fuchu City. The name Skylark was derived from the place of the Group's original founding, Hibarigaoka, with the meaning of not forgetting our founding entrepreneurial spirit.
